For the past several years, I have been employing the Twin Force Bite Corrector (Ortho Organizers). I have found it to be an excellent Mandibular repositioning/Maxillary distalization appliance (Figs. 1-3). Although I have employed the Multi Distalizing Arch Appliance (MDA) very successfully and I still use this appliance routinely, the Twin Force offers one component that the MDA fails to meet, that is the removal of patient compliance. My decision to employ the Twin Force appliance occurs when a patient presents with a jaw relationship that involves a prognathic maxilla and a retrognathic mandible with a half to full step dental Class II molar occlusion.

The purpose of the Twin Force Appliafignce is to reposition the mandible in an anterior position thus correcting the retruded-retrognathic mandible. It is placed when the patient is in a minimum .019 x .025 stainless steel arch wire and it is retained in the mouth for approximately 8-12 months.
